Welcome
The Toronto Roller Derby League (ToRD) is the largest flat-track derby league in Canada, boasting four house teams, all-star travel teams, and a developmental farm team, whose combined rosters comprise over 120 active skaters! The people you see on the track and pictured on this website are the same that serve on the Board of Directors, coordinate our PR, sell you your t-shirt, and get the whole thing on tape.
We offer a sporting event that is fun for the whole family, so bring everyone you know! We look forward to seeing you in the stands again this year!
What is ToRD
Toronto Roller Derby has been hosting events in our great city since 2006; we are an incorporated business run entirely by the skaters, for the skaters. The Gore-Gore Rollergirls, Chicks Ahoy!, Death Track Dolls, Smoke City Bandits, Toronto Roller Derby All-Stars and Toronto Vipers (our farm team) are thrilled to bring Toronto the finest jams, checks, hits, blocks, knocks, bumps, and bruises yet seen on wheels!
Our mission: to make roller derby a thing of the present and the future, not a nostalgic sport of the past. We blend athleticism with entertainment so that sports fans and not-so-sporty types can all enjoy a little roller derby action in Toronto!
Who is ToRD
ToRD is powered by the skaters and each of these talented, ambitious, and energetic people are passionate about their sport and committed to its success on a local, regional, and global scale. We are “for the skaters, by the skaters” in that our league is operated primarily by the skaters from each team.
We represent a broad range of ages, body types, lifestyles, and backgrounds, and are committed to being inclusive of all walks of life whether they sit in the stands or join us on the track. All of our bouts are wheelchair accessible, queer positive, kid friendly, and fun for everyone!

COVID-19
Due to the impact of COVID-19, Toronto Roller Derby lost all of our primary income streams and, with the delayed reopening of the city, we do not yet know when we’ll be able to return to contact roller derby. Given this lack of clarity around when we’ll be able to begin generating revenue again, we have made the difficult but fiscally responsible decision not to renew our lease or sign a new lease on a space at this time.
While this is happening, we're taking the time to revamp our website and find new ways of connecting- as a league and with our community. We look forward to returning to play as soon as we're able to do so safely.
